Testimonials
“Michael and I want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We had an amazing wedding at your facility. The facility, ceremony venue, catering, and the hotel staff far exceeded our expectations. I am sure that many couples after their weddings can find something that they didn’t like about the facility/reception and Michael and I can not find one thing we were unahppy with.
We truly want to thank you for making our wedding day and amazing experience.
I have attached a few pictures that the photgrapher just sent us. We haven’t seen them all yet, but if we have some good ones of the facility I will forward them to you.
Thanks again,
Angela & Michael”

Sleeping Around – Morro Bay, CA
The Inn at Morro Bay is not the usual accommodation that most people seek out.. It is a lovely 60’s era hotel with lots of charm and ambience.
The grounds and the setting are beautiful. It’s not your usual “Stepford”, “just like every other hotel” out there. You have to be looking for this sort of property to appreciate it.
The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the bathrooms do leave a bit to be desired, but they are quite functional and clean. The Bayview rooms are a must. We didn’t use the spa, but we did see them refilling and adding chlorine to the one in our room.
BRING BINOCULARS!
“ The Orchid, the hotel restaurant at the Inn at Morro Bay is excellent for dinner. My wife and I stay at the Inn about twice a year and I’ve found the service at the Orchid professional, attentive and very friendly. (Last time we were there, the servers wore silk ties with a large orchid on them hand-painted by one of their own.) It’s fine dining, with appropriate food quality and prices, but minus the stuffy atmosphere. We were comfortable and made to feel welcome even though we were casually dressed. It’s the spectacular view of Morro Bay and the proximity to the State Park and Bird Sanctuary that draws you to this property. You can see many types of unusual birds, seals and other wildlife right from your balcony. You can also walk along the beach and the bird sanctuary right from the property.”
The location is spectacular. The sounds and smells and wildlife right in your own backyard are amazing! The location is quiet and away from town.
The restaurant is wonderful. The bar is the best place to sit and have dinner and a glass of wine. The food was delicious. Everything we tried was excellent. The view of the Bay is breathtaking.
After reading the reviews, we were a bit apprehensive about staying there, but everything was great. The staff was really nice and helpful. Wendy and Scott (the bartenders) couldn’t have been more welcoming, along with the rest of the staff.
We had a great time, and will definitely return.

* Trip Advisor * testemonial: January 9, 2007“On December 4 and 5, 2006, we held a two-day training conference, “Phenix Training,” at the Inn for psychologists and psychiatrists from throughout the State of California. What can I say! I’ve lost count of how many events we’ve held at the Inn over the past few years, and without exception, everyone who I’ve had contact with was professional, efficient and a pleasure to work with.
I’m looking forward to my next event at the Inn and working with your delightful staff, and I’d like to convey my special thanks to Shannon, Kirsten, Stephanie, Shawn and Melanie for their help and expertise in making our recent training conference such a success.”
Sincerely, Lana Hollady
“Our wedding day was perfect from start to finish. The gorgeous backdrop of Morro Rock and the bay makes for perfect pictures and sets the tone for a beautiful ceremony. The staff were extremely helpful and made sure that we had everything we needed for the day to run smoothly. We had many guests from out of the country and it was truly amazing to have everyone (including us) stay at the inn and to receive such wonderful service. All of our guests complimented us on our choice of venue and many have told us they plan to return.”~Heather and Paul (August 2006)
“Locals on the Central Coast know that the best time of year here is in October. Not only was the weather on our Wedding Day great, it was perfect. The Bay View Deck at the Inn at Morro Bay is nestled in a natural bird estuary and offers priceless views of the back bay. It was 73 degrees, not a cloud in the sky and no wind. If you are considering this location for a wedding, go to the Inn, stand on the deck and you’ll know what we mean.
Shannon Stire, our contact at The Inn and an organized professional made planning our wedding day from “out of town” fairly painless. A couple of questions about candles and flowers, but all pretty easily handled.
While the wedding package at The Inn is pretty pricey by our standards, it was nice to have an “all inclusive” price, no nickel and dimming on things that could add up. My husband was happy with the final tab, no surprises. The service and food were excellent both during the Reception on The Bay View Deck and In the Morro Bay Room. We chose the split plate option of Salmon and Prime Rib. Our guests raved about it! Shannon was also helpful in managing the Reception and keeping us focused varies traditions, i.e., toast, cake cutting, etc.
This is an older property that the staff is working hard to update. The rooms may have a funky little quirk here and there, but why are you really there anyway? Take a look at the ocean, walk on the grounds, sit in the bar and look at the beautiful view of the bay.
The location, food and service are the things that make this property special and these were the things that made our Wedding Day Perfect.” November 21, 2006 – Trip Advisor
