Morro Bay’s weather is consistently gorgeous year-round with sunny clear skies and ocean breezes. Light coastal fog often rolls in at night, but burns off in the morning leaving beautiful weather perfect for all outdoor activities. Evenings are typically cool without being cold, an ideal temperature for an evening stroll along the beach.

The average summer day is 65 degrees Fahrenheit, though it often warms to 70° or 80°. Summer evenings have an average low of 52°. Winter highs and lows are 62° and 43° Fahrenheit respectively, with a backdrop of brilliant sunshine punctuated by occasional light showers. Morro Bay’s climate is ideal, providing a retreat from the hot inland sun in summer and the colder inland weather in winter.

Layered clothing is best: daytime temperatures can climb into the 70’s on a clear sunny day, even in winter. Sunscreen is a must if you’ll be out for a while. Pack a sweater and windbreaker, light rain gear if you are visiting us in winter, plus a scarf and hat for those cool walks at sunset.

Good walking shoes or sneakers are recommended. This is California. Think casual!
